Terrafugia Transition es un vehículo versátil que puede transformarse de automóvil a aeroplano en sólo treinta segundos. Este prototipo fue presentado la semana pasada en el Museo de Ciencia de Boston (EEUU), tiene capacidad para dos personas y puede alcanzar una velocidad máxima de 185 kilómetros por hora en el aire y 129 kilómetros en tierra.
Según cuenta Carl Dietrich, fundador de Terrafugia, asegura que cuando el Transition se empiece a vender a finales de 2010 “cambiará el mundo de la movilidad personal” y permitirá “viajar sin preocupaciones, una experiencia integrada aire-tierra”.
El Terrafugia Transition cuando está en el aire, se pilota usando una barra de control y pedales de timón para volar, mientras que en tierra firme el conductor usa un volante clásico y pedales para acelerar y frenar.
El Terrafugia Transition costará 194.000 dólares y actualmente ya hay unas 40 personas en lista de espera para adquirirlo.
